The Magic of Christmas and New Year in the Moldovan Diaspora of Manchester

The photo shows a group of parents and their children that have attended the Moldovan Diaspora Business Alliance event in Manchester, UK. The event was dedicated to Christmas and New Year celebrations.

With great pleasure, we share with you the story of an exceptional cultural event organized by the Moldovan Diaspora Business Alliance! On January 19, 2025, in Manchester, the Moldovan community came together to celebrate Christmas and New Year in an atmosphere of festivity, emotion, and tradition.

🎤 An Unforgettable Concert

The event was dedicated to children and their families, who delighted us with a diverse artistic program filled with songs, poetry, traditional greetings, and carols. Congratulations to all the children and parents who put in so much effort to make this day memorable!

Father Christmas made an appearance to the delight of the little ones, bringing them sweets and unforgettable memories—for many of them, it was their first time meeting Father Christmas.

🎨 The Craft and Artisan Products Fair

The event also hosted an impressive craft fair, where artisans from both sides of the Prut River showcased handmade items of exceptional beauty and craftsmanship.

Visitors also had the opportunity to taste traditional Moldovan and Romanian dishes, prepared by our talented artisans.

🎶 Special Guests

The festive atmosphere was enhanced by the presence of the Emeritus Artist of the Republic of Moldova, Stanislav Nicolau, who delighted us with live folk music. We thank Mr. Nicolau for his infectious energy and for the way he brought the community together through song.

🤝 Moldovan and Romanian Dignitaries

We were honoured by the presence of the team from the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the United Kingdom, led by the First Secretary, Mrs Inga Movileanu-Botnari, as well as the Consul General of Romania in Manchester, Mrs Nicoleta Teodorovici.

The Embassy also provided consular outreach services through Mrs Lilia Manoli, Consul of the Republic of Moldova in the United Kingdom, thus offering support to Moldovan citizens in the region.
